It was led by Cardinal Joan Josep Omella i Omella, Archbishop of Barcelona
On Sunday 30 December, the Sagrada Família hosted the Religious Celebration of the Holy Family, led by Cardinal Joan Josep Omella i Omella, Archbishop of Barcelona, with Cardinal Lluís Martínez Sistach and Auxiliary Bishop Mons. Antoni Vadell, among others.
During the Eucharist, Archbishop Omella referred to the family as “a gift from God” and an “essential pillar of society”. In fact, the faithful who attended mass included married couples who had recently celebrated their 25th and 50th anniversaries.
The mass also featured new altar cloths made by one hundred members of the Escola de Puntaires de Barcelona. The altar cloths were presented during the offerings and used to cover the altar.
